A Brexit Party candidate in Bristol has defended widely criticised comments by Ann Widdecombe that science «could produce an answer to being gay».

Tim Page, who is standing in Bristol East, attended a hustings at St Brendan‘s college in which he has admitted to saying that Ms Widdecombe’s comments were «taken out of context».

One source who was present at the hustings last week told Bristol Live that Mr Page claimed Ms Widdecombe did «not mean what she said», BristolLive reports.
