Renew Europe expels Lithuanian MEP Viktor Uspaskich over homophobic comments
European Parliament group Renew Europe has expelled Lithuanian MEP Viktor Uspaskich over homophobic comments.
The politician had faced an internal disciplinary procedure for posting comments on social media.
In a statement on Wednesday, the liberal group confirmed Viktor Uspaskich‘s expulsion «with immediate eect» following a vote, Euronews reports.
«There is no place for homophobia in the Renew Europe family», said Dacian Ciolos, President of Renew Europe.
