New bill will enable transgender and intersex Victorians to change sex on birth certificate

Transgender and intersex Victorians will be able to change the sex on their birth certificates under a new bill.

Transgender Victoria’s Chair Brenda Appleton said the lives of transgender people would be improved under the reforms, introduced into parliament on yesterday.

“This reform is extremely important for the trans and gender diverse community,” Ms Appleton said.
