Obama to expand federal benefits to same-sex partners
President Barack Obama will approve today an expansion of federal benefits to cover the same-sex partners of U.S. government employees, according to a White House official.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, declined to release details about the decision. Obama pledged during his presidential campaign to support equal rights for gays and lesbians, Canada.com reports.
