UN Member States Affirm Commitment To Gender Equality Without Taking Further Steps To Achieve It
Twenty five years after the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action on gender equality, at the 64th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) of the UN, governments have reaffirmed the commitments made in 1995, but fallen short of taking any further steps toward committing to achieving gender equality or explicitly recognising the impact of gender inequalities on LGBTIQ people.

Vatican Confirms Hate Against LGBTIQ People Are A Religious Value
On 10 June 2019 the Congregation for Catholic Education of the Vatican issued a 31 page long guidance on gender identity, stating decisively that gender is binary and imparted by God, not only denying the existence and rights of transgender people, but framing their existence as dangerous and threatening, and entirely overlooking the existence of intersex people.

Commission on the Status of Women Agrees Inclusive Conclusions Despite Backlash
Despite an increasingly polarised environment and strong pressure against inclusivity and diversity, the 63rd session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), the foremost intergovernmental body dedicated to gender equality, came to a close late on Friday, March 22, with participating states having agreed conclusions which aim to strengthen the rights of all women to social protection systems, access to public services, and sustainable infrastructure.
