Inter-American Commission On Human Rights Rules Jamaica’s «Buggery» Law Incompatible With American Convention On Human Rights
The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) ruled end of February that Jamaica’s colonial-era ban on same-sex relations, known as the «anti-buggery» law, is incompatible with the American Convention on Human Rights.

Haitian LGBTIQ Activist Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances
One of Haiti’s most prominent LGBTIQ activists, Jeudy Charlot, was found dead at his home in Pétion-Ville outside of the capital of Port-au-Prince on the morning of Monday, November 25th. The circumstances of his death are still unclear and an autopsy is needed to determine the cause of death.

Ugandan Authorities Amp Up Persecution of LGBTIQ People
LGBTIQ activists in Uganda confirm that on Sunday, November 10th, an LGBTIQ-friendly bar in Kampala was raided and 125 people arrested and charged with drug possession, indicating an intentional and growing persecution of LGBTIQ people in the country.

U.S. Supreme Court Case on Anti-LGBTIQ Discrimination to Have International Implications
On October 8, 2019, the Supreme Court of the United States of America started hearing arguments in a case which will determine whether Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 that prohibits workplace discrimination on the basis of sex, race, colour, national origin and religion, applies to cases of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
