Queer on the slopes! Arosa Gay Ski Week turns 21 with Snow, Shows & Sass
Ski, Sashay, Slay! Europe’s favourite queer snowfest returns to the Alps
Hold onto your ski poles, darlings — the Alps are about to get fabulously frosty! The legendary Arosa Gay Ski Week is back for its 21st edition, and it’s shaping up to be the most glamorous slope-side shindig of the season.
From 17 to 24 January 2026, the sleepy Swiss resort town of Arosa will transform into a glittering playground of pride, powder, and pure queer joy. What started in 2005 as a modest meet-up of LGBTQ+ snow lovers has snowballed into one of Europe’s most dazzling winter festivals, drawing over 900 fabulous folk from every corner of the globe.
Drag Queens on Skis? Yes Please!
Expect more than just moguls and mulled wine. This week-long extravaganza boasts a jam-packed programme of themed dinners, après-ski parties, cabaret spectacles, classical concerts, and — wait for it — the iconic Drag Race on skis. Yes, queens in heels hurtling down the slopes. It’s camp, it’s chaotic, and it’s utterly unmissable.
Whether you’re a seasoned shredder or just here for the vibes, there’s something for everyone: daily group skiing with LGBTQ+ guides, spa sessions, tobogganing, and scenic excursions. Accommodation ranges from plush 5-star spa hotels to snug mountain lodges, with packages that include lift passes and full access to the glitter-fuelled itinerary.
A Village That Loves to Love
The magic of Arosa Gay Ski Week isn’t just in the events — it’s in the atmosphere. The entire village gets involved, creating a warm, inclusive Alpine haven that’s as welcoming as it is breathtaking. Organised by a passionate non-profit team alongside Arosa Tourism, the festival is a true labour of love.
«We’re proud to celebrate 21 years of community, fun and visibility in one of Europe’s most stunning ski resorts», says Alex Herkommer, General Manager of the Arosa Gay Ski Week Association. «This isn’t just a party — it’s a celebration of who we are».
Getting There Is a Breeze
Fly into Zurich, hop on a scenic train through snow-dusted valleys, and you’ll be in Arosa without the faff of car rentals or buses. It’s as easy as it is enchanting.
