Jobless gay pair ‘Taunted’
Jobcentre bosses are probing claims that staff subjected a couple to homophobic abuse during weeks of discrimination, calling them “gay boys”. Zteve Mellor, 23, and Roy Pearson, 28, said they were victimised for being gay whenever they went to claim their benefits.
They said they were verbally abused and deliberately given them less help than others got because of their sexuality, Daily Star in UK reports.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is now investigating claims that staff abused them.
