Sylvia Rivera Law Project Celebrates 10th Anniversary
The Sylvia Rivera Law Project (SRLP), a New York City-based non-profit organization run collectively by and for low income trans communities and trans communities of color, will celebrated its 10th anniversary on November 8th honoring activists who have worked to improve the lives of trans people of color.

GLAAD Announces Dave Montez as Chief of Staff
GLAAD yesterday announced Dave Montez as the organization’s new Chief of Staff. Montez will be working closely with GLAAD President Herndon Graddick on the organization’s development, operations and programs departments which work for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality. He will be based in the New York office and is scheduled to start work with the organization in January 2013.

GLBT History Museum Reopens After Vandal Shatters Front Windows
The GLBT History Museum in San Francisco has reopened and completed repairs after a vandal shattered two large plate glass windows early on the morning of Monday, October 29. Located in the Castro District, the museum is an internationally renowned institution devoted to displaying and interpreting gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender history and culture.

GLAAD National Board of Directors Appoints New Officers, Announces New Members
GLAAD today announced Thom Reilly as Chair of its National Board of Directors, as well as Sheri Fults as Vice Chair of Development, Kevin Oldis as Vice Chair of Governance, David Hedley as Treasurer, Professor Jennifer Finney Boylan as Secretary, and Steve Warren and Craig Zodikoff as Members at Large. Professor Boylan becomes the first transgender Board Member appointed to the leadership of the organization.
