The World Congress of Families (WCF), designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, announced last week that a regional conference would be held on October 31 and November 1 in Accra, Ghana, marking an expansion of its right-wing fundamentalist agenda in West Africa.

House of Representatives of Indonesia to Vote on Amendments to Criminal Code
The Indonesian House of Representatives will be voting on September 24, 2019, on proposed revisions to the Indonesian Criminal Code which, if passed, will violate the rights of numerous vulnerable groups, including women, LGBTQ people, and religious minorities, as well as limit freedom of speech and association.

Kazakhstan: Feminist Group Denied Registration
An appeals court in Kazakhstan on September 3 upheld a decision denying Feminita, a national feminist initiative, registration as a nongovernmental organisation (NGO). The group’s focus includes the rights of lesbian, bisexual, and queer women.
