The European Parliament announced the finalists for the Sakharov Prize on 9 October 2019. And for the first time in its 30 years of existence, a person from the LGBTI community is on the list: Marielle Franco.

We were appalled to see that the participants of the Equality March – that took place for the first time in the Polish city of Bialystok on 20 July – became victims of LGBTI-phobic hate speech and physical violence exhibited by far-right groups and football ultra-fans.

MEPs to Commission: call on Georgia to protect Tbilisi Pride
Georgia is about to host its first-ever Pride March, under threat of attacks by far right LGBTIphobic groups and the Orthodox Church. However Georgian authorities refuse to provide adequate protect to Tbilissi Pride March, due to take place on Saturday 22 June.
