India’s Colonial-Area Ban On Same-Sex Relations Is Repealed
Today the Supreme Court of India made the historic decision to repeal the ban on same-sex relations. The colonial-era Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code made sexual behaviour «against the order of nature» illegal and punishable by imprisonment and served as a model for similar laws across the British Colonial Empire.

Qatar: Censorship Ignores Rights, FIFA Rules
The government of Qatar should change its laws to end arbitrary censorship of articles about sexual orientation and gender identity and revoke its Penal Code provision that punishes same-sex relations with imprisonment between one to three years, Human Rights Watch said today. Qatar is host of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

U.S : Bill Advances Bias in Adoption, Foster Care
Child welfare agencies in the United States could be allowed to discriminate under a recent amendment to legislation pending before Congress. The amendment would also threaten the rights of children in care, Human Rights Watch said in a video released today.
