Ireland : Time gay men must wait to give blood after last sexual contact is reduced
Gay men will from Monday (28 March 2022) be able to donate blood four months after their last sexual encounter instead of twelve months in a change of eligibility criteria announced by the Irish Blood Transfusion Service.

No change to blood rules for gay men
There are no plans to change the rules prohibiting homosexual and bisexual men in Ireland from donating blood, the Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) has confirmed.
