Russian Minister to IOC: International LGBT Olympians at Risk
Claims made by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) that international LGBT visitors to Russia would be safe during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi appear to be coming apart at the seams today as Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko declared that all LGBT athletes within Russian borders will be very much at risk during the 2014 Games.

Russian Lawmaker: Foreign Visitors Not Exempt from Anti-LGBT Law
The day after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced it had received assurances from “the highest level of government in Russia” that foreigners visiting the country for the 2014 Olympics would be exempt from a newly-passed law prohibiting “homosexual propaganda,” the co-sponsor of the bill told reporters the law will remain enforced during the Sochi Games.
