National Geographic Channel endorses Boy Scouts of America, refuses to speak out against ban on gay Scouts
GLAAD, the nation’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy and anti-defamation organization, today joined Eagle Scout Will Oliver and Scouts for Equality to urge National Geographic Channel to denounce the Boy Scouts of America’s (BSA) ban on gay scouts and scout leaders.

Obama’s Inaugural Prayer Service Includes Head of Pro-LGBT Denomination
White House staff announced that the Interfaith Prayer Service at the National Cathedral, to be held Tuesday morning, January 22, will include the Rev. Dr. Nancy Wilson, moderator and international leader of the Metropolitan Community Churches (MCC), a denomination founded 45 years ago as a church open to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

Yesterday a U.S. Army spokesperson backed the decision by the Association of [Fort] Bragg Officers’ Spouses to deny membership to the wife of a lesbian Army officer. Yet just days before, the Marine Corps Commandant instructed clubs at all Marine bases to welcome same-sex spouses as a condition of continued operation on Marine installations.
