World Outgames Launches Extensive Party Program

Together with a large number of party organizers from the Copenhagen nightlife, World Outgames is making the preparations for some serious partying in the streets as part of the World Outgames – this summer’s sports, cultural and human rights events for the international LGBT community (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender).

The parties range from women’s parties and men’s parties to mixed and sports parties, dance parties and erotic parties. The parties will kick off the evening before the official opening of the World Outgames with the White Party, the international party phenomenon, in Docken at Nordhavn (north harbor). The extensive opening ceremony at the City Hall Square on Saturday, July 25th will be followed by the Official World Outgames Grand Opening Party – a
party at Halvandet for everyone taking part in the World Outgames.

On Sunday, there will be a Tea Dance called Copenhagen Harbour Party in the beautiful setting of the Royal Danish Playhouse. On Monday, things will get going at a Hawaiian party at the Be Proud disco, and at the Danish Student’s Rowing Club there will be a Sailor Splash Party.

On Wednesday, Halvandet will host the official end-of-conference party for the World Outgames International Conference on LGBT Human Rights. The party is called FAIRY FERRY.

On Thursday, July 30th, the IN disco will be the setting for at Party Against Hate Crime organized by Club W. Drinks will be free of charge and part of the profits from the sale of tickets will be donated to a campaign for preventing hate crimes. The same evening, Scandinavian Leather Men will open their doors at the K3 disco for the LEWD party – a leather and fetish dance party where the winner of Mr Leather Outgames will be chosen.

On Friday, things will get hot with two parties called SKIN organised by Rosa Lux and Simon Dolk in NORD and SALT clubs. The two parties are for women and men respectively – The Pussy Edition and The Cock Edition. We’ll let you work out which is which…

There is also a women’s party at Park, called Wild Women Do. Saturday, August 1st is when the World Outgames will conclude with the annual Copenhagen Pride and an extensive show at the City Hall Square. That evening, there will no fewer than five official World Outgames closing parties: Vela’s Female Pride Party in Hal D, Club W Women’s Pride Party in the Copenhagen Skate Club, the Mirage party organised by Sabaah in the Meatpacking District, a special World Outgames stage for RAW at Docken and last but not least ROCCO vs. GMF Berlin at Halvandet. The Danish ROCCO guys, who hold monthly gay parties in Copenhagen, and GMF, the big gay club in Berlin, are running the latter together.

World Outgames

The World Outgames will be held in Copenhagen from July 25th to August 2nd. World Outgames is a large international sports, cultural and human rights event targeted at homosexuals, bisexuals and transgender people from all over the world, but everyone is welcome to join in.

The event includes an ambitious sports and cultural program as well as an international human rights conference. The conference focuses on the living conditions and rights of homosexuals, bisexuals and transgender people worldwide. In many countries, transgender people have to fight to have their identities recognized, while homosexuals and bisexuals battle in many societies with a general atmosphere of oppression and being forced to be invisible.
