According to data released by the defense ministry, the incidence of HIV among Russian military personnel soared by more than 40 times during the first year of conflict. From January to October of 2022, new HIV cases detected in the armed forces grew fivefold. By the end of that year, this figure had spiked to approximately 20 times higher than pre-war levels.
