Kaiyra is not gone «Overnight» !
The track is self-produced in collaboration with Dan MacKenzie, with additional noodling from Danny Y and Maryn Knevitt.
In this euphoric blast of trance edged pop Kaiyra takes her strength back from the past as she transcends over a lost love and reminisces over a long-term love affair. Raw passionate vocals are accompanied by effervescent tones and sparkling dance vibrations that transform the pain of a lost love into an empowering life-affirming, energising and vitalising track. The track deals with the struggles of a pre-determined end of a relationship colliding with a tenancy agreement and a date set in stone, «it’s almost time to say our goodbyes».
Imagine uplifting synth pop hooks, uplifting melodies, a rush of emotion and rich vocal tones echoing the likes of CharliXCX, Mabel, or Alma. The production is accompanied by uplifting beats, while Kaiyra’s striking and rich vocals combine to take you to the next level. As winter draws to a close «Overnight» is a reminder of the freedom of summer and romantic happenings in this sketchbook of memories, as she prepares for the next chapters in her life. Reflecting on this long-term love and an acceptance of the past Kaiyra embraces the future.
Lockdown has given her the time to immerse herself in the studio, giving her the opportunity to influence the music from start to finish and collaborate with her contemporaries. As well as storyboard and direct the video from start to finish. Influences vary from RAYE, Khalid, Christina Aguilera, CharliXCX, Yebba and Elderbrook.
An established singer and songwriter in Venice Italy, Kaiyra now resides in East London studying and honing her production skills at Point Blank, where she has generated a prolific collection of tracks set for release in 2022.
I got the chance to listen to Kaiyra’s «Overnight» and it is a great pop song on the edge of trance, you just jump out of the sofa to dance and you don’t want to miss this tune on 22 April 2022. I’m sure you gonna love it too!
