UN Member States Affirm Commitment To Gender Equality Without Taking Further Steps To Achieve It
Twenty five years after the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action on gender equality, at the 64th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) of the UN, governments have reaffirmed the commitments made in 1995, but fallen short of taking any further steps toward committing to achieving gender equality or explicitly recognising the impact of gender inequalities on LGBTIQ people.

Bill Proposing Nation-Wide Ban on «Conversion Therapy» Introduced in Canada
On Monday, March 9, 2020, amendments to the Criminal Code proposing to ban so-called «Conversion Therapy» practices to change, suppress, or divert one’s sexual orientation or gender identity were introduced in Canada by its ministers of Justice and Diversity, Inclusion and Youth.

Inter-American Commission On Human Rights Rules Jamaica’s «Buggery» Law Incompatible With American Convention On Human Rights
The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) ruled end of February that Jamaica’s colonial-era ban on same-sex relations, known as the «anti-buggery» law, is incompatible with the American Convention on Human Rights.
