Boris Johnson pressured to apologise for decades of sexist, homophobic and racist remarks

Boris Johnson is a liar and a sexist, Labour charged today after the PM refused on live radio to apologise for derogatory comments about single mothers and women.

His car-crash LBC interview came as pressure mounted on the prime minister to come clean over decades of sexist, homophobic and racist remarks.

Today’s outrage came when Mr Johnson was challenged about an article he wrote in 1995 where he blamed single mums for «producing a generation of ill-raised, ignorant, aggressive and illegitimate children».

When pressed to apologise during the morning interview by a caller named Ruth, the PM claimed his words had been «distorted», Sky News reports.
