RuPaul’s DragCon Adds Bold and Provocative Zumanity to its Lineup & Announces Kick-Off Event

By PrWebMay 15, 2015 Article

RuPaul’s DragCon– the first-ever drag convention in HERstory that celebrates “the art of drag, queer culture and self-expression for all,” announced a lineup addition: Zumanity™ – a provocative cabaret-style production with a Cirque du Soleil® twist. RuPaul’s DragCon, which takes place May 16-17 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, is spearheaded by RuPaul and World of Wonder, and will be a glittering weekend with the largest-ever gathering of drag queens and gay icons.

Zumanity is an adult-themed 90-minute production that blends playful innuendo with daring eroticism – only at New York-New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Emceed by “Mistress of Sensuality” Edie (famed drag diva Christopher Kenney), and distinguished by an unconventional culture of artists, the production renders a tale of emotional freedom, natural beauty and acceptance of differences. At RuPaul’s DragCon, Edie and members of the cast and crew will give you a peek behind the curtain of Las Vegas’ sexiest cabaret with stories about the show’s creation, a make-up demonstration, and samples of Thierry Mugler’s fabulous costumes. New choreography by young French dance sensation Yanis Marshall will be demonstrated by two hot guys in heels.

“We promised a one-of-a-kind event that will have lovers of drag culture letting their freak flags fly high,” said RuPaul. “Zumanity is on the cutting edge of entertainment and will surely be exciting to everyone at DragCon.”
