OBX Pride Festival is the annual gay pride festival held on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The festival is set to take place the weekend of September 12-14, 2014 at the First Colony Inn in Nags Head. There are many events scheduled over the OBX Pride Festival weekend that coincide with the Saturday events at the First Colony Inn. Some of the featured events include the Pridefest Kick-off on the Crystal Dawn charter boat, the LGBT Comedy Club Show featuring Roxy C. Moorecox, the 4th Annual Outer Banks Gay Pride Festival featuring live entertainment all day (Saturday), the Little Betty’s Drag Surfing Beach Party & Tea Dance, the Sterling Maxwell’s Drag King Showcase, the Jennifer Warner Show at Kelly’s Tavern, and more.

Several of the events for the OBX Pride Festival are held within walking distance from many inns, hotels, vacation rental homes and cottages on the Outer Banks. The First Colony Inn will offer a special Pride Festival package that will include discounts and other event participating offers. Village Realty also offers cottage rentals for larger groups. The Blue Heron Hotel, The Sea Foam Motel and Owen’s Motel are also recommended accommodations. Reservations are recommended well in advance when finding places to stay on the Outer Banks.

“Outer Banks Media is proud to be a sponsor and participate in the OBX Pride Festival. This is a great event that brings visitors to the Outer Banks from all over. We look forward to revamping their website and making this year’s OBX Pride Fest the best one yet,” says C.K. Evans, President of Outer Banks Media.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for all budgets. The Roanoke Marshes Light sponsorship package, for those donations of $100 – $499, include receiving company logo on obxpride.com and a website link. The highest tier of sponsorship, Cape Hatteras Light, includes donations of $5000 or more. These sponsors will receive banner placement at festival grounds, company logo printed on all materials, vendor booth space and more.

“We are excited about giving the website a new facelift this year! We contracted with OBX Media to get a fully responsive WordPress website so we can have a more sophisticated and search engine friendly website. Tickets will be available and easy to purchase from all different devices, which is a new change for this year. You can now buy tickets from your mobile and tablet devices,” said David Miller, President of OBX Pride Fest.

OBX Pride, Inc., is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, registered with the State of North Carolina. All donations to OBX Pride, Inc. are fully tax-deductible to the extent provided by law. The charity recipient for 2014 will be the Outer Banks Relief Foundation. A good portion of the proceeds will go to funding HIV education in Dare County High Schools. HIV awareness has fallen by the wayside in this area of the state even though North Carolina is 10th in numbers of HIV/AIDS cases and the fastest growing age group for new infections is the 13 to 24 year olds.
