Rep. Kucinich Joins Board of PDA

“Those of you who know me also understand that I am not a ‘joiner’ by nature,” Kucinich remarked in a letter to PDA members. “I like having the flexibility to ‘lead from the front,’ to move quickly to take on serious and controversial issues, and to stake out my positions without causing headaches to my friends and allies. More important, I always want to make sure that the organizations I join will be true to the principles for which I have always fought. PDA has more than met that test.”

“For the seven years of its existence,” Kucinich said, “PDA has fought fiercely to end the occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan, carried the banner for single-payer health care for all, intervened to try to get a fair and open vote count in Ohio, stood up for ‘health care’ and ‘windmills’ rather than ‘warfare,’ and stood up for both working families and the environment by opposing neoliberal trade rip-offs. I’m proud that one of the continuing legacies of my first Presidential campaign is PDA. And now that I am on the PDA Board, I look forward to years of working together to build the better nation that we all want and need.”
